Just in time for the holidays…my art exhibit, “Partly Cloudy,” was featured in November 2017 at Robert Goodman Jewelers in Zionsville, IN.

“Love Sculpture,”has a new home at The Whittaker Inn, West Lafayette, IN. Inn owner Elizabeth Whittaker found the perfect spot for Roob’s painting in the gathering room for all the guests to enjoy.

Nhat Tran’s Art Opening

My friend, Internationally-renowned Urushi artist Nhat Tran held an opening reception for her exhibit “Topsy Turvy” in her downtown Indianapolis studio.

I had the opportunity to hang my painting, “Frozen,” and enjoyed being part of the event.

Cold Creek

Cold Creek

I frequently walk along a paved path next to Fall Creek in the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. I decided I should paint what it looks like in every season. I especially like the view in the winter when the sun reflects soft shades of pink, blue, and yellow on the snow, and trees in the background display muted purples and blues.

Grandpa’s Barn

This was a commissioned piece that I did for a friend. She wanted a painting reminiscent of her grandfather’s barn and happy childhood memories of playing in the hayloft. I asked her what type of barn, fields, and tree line he had, and what type of sky she preferred. After that she gave me leeway in the design and opted not to see the painting until it was finished. I had fun using a palette knife to create a newly tilled field with puddles in the foreground. We were both happy with the outcome.

The Farm

I tried to stay loose in this 8″ x 10″ piece I painted from a photograph taken on country road in Indiana. I used a pallet knife for most of the painting and a small brush to finish the details of the barns and grain bins.

The Path

Every time I walk this path next to Fall Creek in Indianapolis I find new inspiration. On this Fall day I was taken by the lovely Autumn hues of the trees and the interesting shadows cast across the pavement. I decided to take some liberty and have fun with the colors in this piece.
